Terms
Terms of use
These terms cover this website, the public API, and the Quran Mushaf Canva app. Using any of them means accepting what follows.
The service
Everything here is free and needs no account. It is offered as it is, with no guarantee of availability, and it may change or stop at any time. Request limits apply so that one script cannot exhaust the service for everyone else.
The images
The Qur'anic text and the muṣḥaf artwork belong to the King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex and are used under the Complex's free digital licence, which permits digital publishing, media use, and use in websites and software. Your use of the images is bound by that licence. The one right the Complex reserves is physical: printing muṣḥafs inside the Kingdom for commercial sale, or importing them for that purpose. The provenance page sets this out in full.
Within those bounds you may use the images in personal and commercial design work without asking us and without attributing us.
Handling the text with care
These are images of the Qur'an. Do not alter, distort, recolour beyond the options offered here, crop, or partially render the text, and do not present it as anything other than what it is. Do not use it in a context that would demean it. A range is either drawn in full or refused, and we ask you to keep it that way.
Fair use of the API
The API is open, and we would rather keep it that way. Do not attempt to download the whole corpus, circumvent the request limits, or resell access to the service itself. Hotlinking a rendered image is fine and is what the caching is for.
No warranty
The service is provided without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss arising from its use or from its being unavailable. Verify anything you publish, as you would with any source.
Changes and contact
Revised terms will be published on this page. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
